<p>The engine used to create <a href="http://www.pulpgames.net/milpa/">Milpa</a> &#8211; known as PulpCore &#8211;  is today available as free open source.  PulpCore is a 2D rendering and animation framework for the Java plug-in.</p>
<p>I didn&#8217;t really plan on creating a 2D framework &#8211; it just sort of happened gradually over a few years. It recently came to the point where I wanted to let others take a look at it and use it for their own games.</p>
